Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has suspended the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) of SereneAir after officials confirmed the airline failed to maintain a single serviceable aircraft in its fleet.
The suspension will remain in effect until the private carrier makes aircraft available for operations, with regulators to review the case for reinstatement once requirements are fulfilled. Following the suspension, PCAA also directed SereneAir to surrender all relevant certificates for endorsement.
SereneAir, which entered Pakistan’s aviation market in 2017 with five Boeing 737 aircraft, has been grounded for weeks as its entire fleet remains unserviceable. The airline had already been struggling to sustain operations amid financial constraints.
Responding to the development, SereneAir described the suspension as temporary. “This is a short-term pause, and our team is working diligently with authorities to ensure a swift return to service,” the airline said in a statement.
Addressing passengers and stakeholders, the carrier added: “Your safety, comfort, and trust remain our top priority. We kindly request your patience during this period and assure you that regular updates will be shared. We look forward to welcoming you back on board very soon.”
