Mari Energies granted provisional exploration rights for Block 28-North in Balochistan

The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) has provisionally granted exploration rights for Block 28-North (3068-11) in Balochistan to Mari Energies Limited, the company announced in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

The company stated that it is working with the Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions to finalize and execute the Petroleum Concession Agreement (PCA) and Exploration Licence (EL) in accordance with applicable rules and procedures. The award of exploration rights is contingent on the final execution of the relevant agreements with the government.

Mari Energies Limited, incorporated in Pakistan on December 4, 1984, is primarily involved in the exploration, production, and sale of hydrocarbons. The company operates the Mari Gas Field in Daharki, Sindh, which is the country’s largest gas reservoir, making MARI the second-largest producer of natural gas in Pakistan.
