A session of the National Assembly was convened on Monday, with the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill expected to be introduced soon after its passage in the Senate.
The NA met soon after sources reported a meeting between Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The sources said that the two discussed holding a vote on the Bill after its passage in the Senate.
The development comes as the ruling coalition passed the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill with 64 votes during a session, which saw the opposition staging a walkout and tearing copies of the Bill.
The proposed amendment would overhaul the military and judicial structures, with proposals to curtail certain powers of the Supreme Court.
This is a developing story and is being updated with further details.
