Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, on Saturday directed the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority to prepare a plan for an Islamabad ‘Pharma Park’.

The directive followed Khan’s meeting with the Rawalpindi SMEs Cluster and the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where pharmaceutical SMEs highlighted challenges and the need for structured government support, an official release said.

Khan said the facility is essential to promote growth, innovation, and quality in the sector. He added that SMEs have significant potential but require proper platforms and institutional backing to scale up and contribute effectively to the national economy.
