Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier, flyadeal, has launched scheduled flights to Lahore, marking its fifth destination in Pakistan as part of the airline’s rapid regional expansion.
Last week, Flight F3 655 from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The arrival was followed by a ceremony attended by airline and airport officials, including crew members from the inaugural flight.
According to a press statement, flyadeal will operate two weekly flights on the Lahore–Riyadh route, increasing the airline’s total frequency between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to 18 flights per week. The carrier now connects five major Pakistani cities — Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot, and Lahore — all of which were launched in phases since February this year.
Flyadeal Chief Executive Officer Steven Greenway said the airline’s expansion to five cities within eight months demonstrated its commitment to Pakistan’s growing travel market. “Entering any new market takes time, but our teams have successfully built the operational and commercial foundation to serve customers across Pakistan,” he stated.
The airline, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), operates a fleet of 42 Airbus A320 aircraft across more than 30 destinations in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and South Asia. Under Saudi Vision 2030, flyadeal plans to expand its network to over 100 destinations with more than 100 aircraft by the end of the decade.
Officials said the new route strengthens trade and tourism connectivity between Punjab and Saudi Arabia, catering to both business and leisure travellers as flight demand between the two countries continues to rise.
