Ismail Industries to establish subsidiary in Spain for expansion into Europe

Ismail Industries Limited (ISIL), a leading Pakistani manufacturer of confectionery items, has approved the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Spain as part of its ongoing international expansion efforts. The decision was made by the company’s Board of Directors through a circular resolution and is subject to obtaining all applicable regulatory approvals, as disclosed in the company’s notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.

The move is seen as a key step in strengthening Ismail Industries’ position in Europe and gaining access to the European Union (EU) market, one of the largest in the world. The company views the new subsidiary in Spain as a strategic gateway to further its reach in the region, aligning with its long-term vision to expand its global footprint and establish its leading brands in international markets.

Founded in 1988 and converted into a public limited company in 1989, Ismail Industries Limited is a well-established name in the confectionery sector. The company manufactures a wide range of products under the brands of Candyland, Bisconni, Snackcity, and Astro films. It is involved in producing sugar, biscuits, potato chips, and various plastic films, including cast polypropylene (CPP) and biaxially oriented polyethene terephthalate (BOPET) film.

In 2024, Ismail Industries also announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, UAE, further reinforcing its international growth strategy.
