LCCI raises concerns over potential closure of Export Processing Zones Authority’s Lahore office

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has voiced concerns over reports that the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) plans to close its regional office in Lahore.

In a statement, LCCI criticised the move, calling it rushed and lacking proper justification. The chamber pointed out that the proposal was reportedly initiated by the new EPZA chairman soon after taking charge, without a thorough evaluation of its potential impact on Punjab’s business community.

LCCI emphasized that the Lahore office has been integral in managing the Export Processing Zones in Punjab, including those in Sialkot and Gujranwala. Shutting down the office, the chamber warned, could lead to administrative challenges and weaken coordination for businesses operating in the region.
