Legal proceedings have been initiated against LUNA Coffee Pakistan in the Consumer Protection Court, Karachi (South), following allegations of misleading marketing and brand imitation.
As per reports, the complaint was lodged by Abdullah Bin Masood, represented by Barrister Hasan Khurshid Hashmi, Advocate Supreme Court. It accuses LUNA Pakistan of replicating the brand identity, logo, and overall design of foreign coffee chains, including LUNA Coffee Saudi Arabia, LUNA Russia, and LUNA Dubai, allegedly misleading customers into believing it was an authorized franchise of these international brands.
Following an initial hearing, the court issued a notice to LUNA Pakistan under Section 26 of the Sindh Consumer Protection Act, 2014, directing the company to respond to the charges. The court warned that failure to appear or submit a defense could result in an ex parte decision. The next hearing is scheduled for November 21, 2025.
In a statement, LUNA Coffee Pakistan denied the allegations, calling the complaint “misconceived, legally unsustainable, and motivated by mala fide intent.” The company maintained that it is an independent Pakistani brand, established in Karachi in 2024, and has no connection to similarly named businesses abroad.
“LUNA Coffee Pakistan has no affiliation or endorsement from any foreign entity. Our trademarks are duly registered with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan, confirming the originality and lawful standing of our brand,” the company said.
LUNA also rejected claims of deceptive pricing or substandard service, stating that all products are sold at fair market rates and that no complaint was raised at the time of purchase. “We will vigorously defend ourselves against any false or malicious legal action,” it added.
