Mahan Air begins Islamabad–Tehran flights with two weekly operations

Mahan Air, an international airline based in Iran, launched its flight operations between Islamabad and Tehran on Thursday, marking a new addition to Pakistan’s international air connectivity network.

According to a statement from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), the inaugural flight departed smoothly from Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) for Tehran. The arriving flight carried 97 passengers, while 264 passengers were on board the outbound sector.

A ceremony to mark the commencement of the service was held at IIAP, organised by SAPS Management. The event was attended by the chief operating officer and airport manager of IIAP, the chief security officer, and senior officials and representatives from the PAA, Airport Security Force (ASF), and SAPS.

The PAA spokesperson noted that all operational and facilitation arrangements were efficiently handled by teams from the PAA and SAPS to ensure a timely departure in line with established aviation standards and procedures.

Mahan Air will operate two weekly flights between Islamabad and Tehran, the PAA confirmed.
