Over 600 Pakistani firms register with China, expanding trade presence

The Commercial Mission of Pakistan in China has facilitated the registration of more than 600 Pakistani companies with Chinese authorities across various sectors, thereby expanding Pakistan’s trade presence and market access in China.

According to a news report, registrations include 25 mango hot water treatment plants, 21 citrus cold treatment facilities, and 103 rice exporters. Other registered sectors include 15 rapeseed meal firms, 106 cherry exporters, 175 seafood companies, 185 sesame seed processors, 10 fish meal producers, and seven defatted bone companies.

New export categories, such as onions, donkey hides, and dairy products, are currently under review for approval.

This initiative helped Pakistani exporters and chambers of commerce to connect with Chinese authorities and guide them through official procedures. It has also helped over 10 Pakistani enterprises register on Chinese e-commerce platforms like Douyin and JD.com, enabling online sales of products including jewellery, pink salt, pine nuts, rice, handicrafts, and carpets.

The Mission handles approximately five trade and investment queries per month, providing information on import regulations, port clearance procedures, and Chinese market policies. It also coordinates with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Board of Investment (BOI), and the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad to facilitate visas for business delegations and exporters.

Officials say the rising number of registrations and strengthened institutional coordination reflect growing confidence between Chinese importers and Pakistani exporters, enhancing Pakistan’s visibility in China’s consumer market and supporting deeper bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
