Pakistan’s trade with Central Asian states, including Afghanistan and Azerbaijan, climbed to $2.41 billion in FY25, showing strong growth from $1.92 billion in the previous fiscal year, documents available with Wealth Pakistan revealed.
Afghanistan remained Pakistan’s largest trading partner in the region, with exports rising to $1.39 billion and imports reaching $612.5 million. Kazakhstan also emerged as a major partner, as Pakistan’s exports surged to $250.8 million. Uzbekistan followed with $91.4 million in exports and $20.3 million in imports during FY25.
Overall, Pakistan’s exports to the region grew to $1.77 billion, while imports stood at $641 million. This marks a notable recovery compared to FY24, when exports were $1.34 billion and imports $581 million.
Other partners — Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan — continued to contribute smaller yet steady shares to Pakistan’s regional trade.
