Indonesia’s Consul General Mudzakir MA has said that bilateral trade with Pakistan continued its upward trend, reaching $4.2 billion in 2024 and maintaining strong momentum this year.
Speaking at a meeting at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), he said trade between January and September 2025 amounted to $2.92 billion, compared with $2.69 billion during the same period in 2024, reflecting “a strong and encouraging increase in economic engagements”.
The envoy noted that despite steady growth, the bilateral trade basket remained narrow. He pointed to untapped opportunities in sectors such as textiles, the Halal industry, agriculture and food products, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, technology and digital innovation.
Mudzakir MA also announced that an Indonesian business delegation, arranged through the Consulate General in Karachi, will participate in the International Consumer Product Fair (ICPF) at the Karachi Expo Centre from December 11 to 14.
He said companies in the delegation would represent a diverse range of industries and showcase Indonesia’s export potential. He requested KCCI to inform its members about the visit and encouraged participation in B2B meetings with the visiting firms.
