Pakistan Navy units operating in the Arabian Sea have seized 1,500 kilograms of narcotics worth an estimated three million dollars, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
The interception was carried out by PNS Yamama, marking one of the latest counter-narcotics actions along key maritime routes. Officials said the consignment was taken into custody without incident.
Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi, reacting to the development, congratulated the Naval Chief and the ship’s crew for what he described as a demonstration of the Navy’s operational readiness. He said the action underscored the force’s vigilance in tracking illicit movements at sea.
Naqvi paid tribute to the officers and sailors involved, noting that their efforts support national objectives to curb drug trafficking. He added that the Navy continues to hold a central role in preventing unlawful activities across Pakistan’s maritime domain, saying the latest seizure reflected the country’s resolve to counter narcotics networks.
