Pakistan opens door for Egyptian firms including Elsewedy Electric to explore investment partnerships

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan held a productive meeting on Monday with Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric, one of Egypt’s leading multinational industrial groups. Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy expressed satisfaction with the company’s current investment in Pakistan.

The commerce minister apprised the Elsewedy leadership of the significant growth potential in Pakistan’s mining sector, highlighting policy reforms, investor-friendly frameworks, emerging public–private partnership avenues, and the increasing interest being shown by major domestic and international players.

He also briefed them on the wide spectrum of opportunities in Pakistan’s rapidly expanding IT and technology services sector, inviting Egyptian companies to explore partnerships, innovation-led ventures, and digital trade cooperation.

The Egyptian counterparts welcomed the latest economic developments in Pakistan and expressed keen interest in deepening bilateral commercial engagement.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to continue collaboration to enhance investment and industrial cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt.
