Pakistan’s oil production up 0.3% WoW, gas output rises 3.1% 

KARACHI: Pakistan’s oil and gas production recorded a week-on-week increase during the seven-day period from September 24 to September 30, according to data compiled by Arif Habib Limited (AHL) using Petroleum Information Service (PPIS) sources.

Total oil production rose by 0.3% to 64,493 barrels per day (bpd) from 64,313 bpd a week earlier. Gas output climbed 3.1% to 2,900 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) compared to 2,812 mmcfd in the preceding week.

Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) posted a 1.1% increase in oil output to 4,750 bpd, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) recorded a 3.4% rise to 10,431 bpd, while Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MARI) saw a 0.8% increase to 1,682 bpd. Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) registered a slight decline of 0.7% to 32,761 bpd.

On the gas side, POL’s production increased 5.3% to 62 mmcfd, PPL’s output rose 2.7% to 546 mmcfd, OGDCL’s gas production advanced 4.4% to 924 mmcfd, and MARI’s output inched up 2.3% to 839 mmcfd.

Among major producing fields, Nashpa remained the largest oil contributor with 11,111 bpd, marking a 3.4% rise. Makori East recorded 5,805 bpd, Adhi 3,611 bpd, and Pasakhi 3,362 bpd. Mardankhel reported the sharpest week-on-week gain of 51.1%, with output rising to 1,219 bpd. Meanwhile, Kunnar Pasakhi Deep and Sharif fields posted minor declines of 2.1% and 1.7%, respectively.

In gas production, Mari led with 837 mmcfd, up 1.8% from the previous week, followed by Uch at 358 mmcfd, up 5.7%, and Sui at 341 mmcfd, up 3.5%. Other key contributors included Qadirpur at 318 mmcfd, Kandhkot at 193 mmcfd, and Sharif at 87 mmcfd.

Overall, the report highlights steady week-on-week gains in both oil and gas output across Pakistan’s exploration and production companies, with Nashpa and Uch fields posting notable increases in production.
