President Zardari forms committee to probe PIFD administrative issues

President Asif Ali Zardari has constituted a committee to investigate the alleged administrative lapses and mismanagement at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD).

The committee has been tasked to undertake a comprehensive visitation and examine reported irregularities, including the assignment of the acting vice chancellor, read a notification issued by the President’s Secretariat.

It will be chaired by the Higher Education Commission chairman, with the HEC executive director and a representative of the President’s Secretariat as members.

The committee may co-opt additional members if required.

The committee’s formation comes after the Senate Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training chairperson highlighted the alleged lapses in the management of the institute.

The committee is expected to submit a detailed inquiry report with recommendations to the chancellor for further consideration, ensuring transparency and accountability in the institute’s administration.
