Procter & Gamble to discontinue business in Pakistan as part of global restructuring

The Gillette Company LLC has informed Gillette Pakistan Limited and its Board of Directors about Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) decision to discontinue its business operations in Pakistan.

Gillette Pakistan Limited disclosed this information through a notice filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday in accordance with the requirements of Section 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the Rule Book of the PSX.

The company said that this decision is part of P&G’s broader global restructuring program, which includes adjustments to its portfolio, supply chain, and organisational strategy aimed at accelerating growth and creating value.

“The Gillette Company LLC has conveyed to Gillette Pakistan Limited, including its Board of Directors, the decision of the Procter & Gamble Company to discontinue its business in Pakistan as part of its global restructuring program, including portfolio, supply chain, and organisation choices to accelerate growth and value creation,” read the notice.

The discontinuation will involve an evaluation by Gillette Pakistan’s Board of Directors regarding the necessary steps for implementing this transition. One of the key actions under review is the potential delisting of Gillette Pakistan Limited from the PSX, in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Gillette Pakistan announced that a board meeting will be held on October 2, 2025, to discuss and determine the appropriate course of action, taking into account the regulatory framework and the implications of the business discontinuation.

Gillette Pakistan was incorporated on December 9, 1986, as a public limited company under the repealed Companies Ordinance, 1984 (now the Companies Act, 2017) and is a subsidiary of The Series Acquisition B.V. Netherlands, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of The P&G Company, USA.

The principal activities of the company include marketing and selling of blades and razors.
