Rs24.2 billion approved for Defence Complex compensation, law and order, Frontier Corps operations

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Thursday approved multiple funding and regulatory measures to address security, compensation, and trade priorities. The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The ECC approved Rs4 billion in compensation for residents affected by land acquisition for the construction of the Defence Complex in Islamabad. The Finance Division will arrange the approved funds, while the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will meet the remaining requirements.

A Rs20 billion supplementary grant was sanctioned for maintaining law and order across the country. The funds will be released in phases by the Finance Division in consultation with the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control. 

An additional Rs174.8 million was approved for the HQ Frontier Corps KP (N) in Peshawar to support ongoing law enforcement operations.

Officials emphasized that these approvals are aimed at ensuring transparency, efficiency, and effective utilization of resources while supporting trade, security, and administrative priorities.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Finance Division, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law and Justice, and other relevant departments.
