Sindh government discusses investment opportunities with Turkish diplomats


KARACHI: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Investment and Public-Private Partnership, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, met with Turkey’s Consul General Ergul Kadak and Commercial Attaché Murat Ozmen on Tuesday to discuss potential areas of collaboration between Sindh and Turkey.

During the meeting, Qamar highlighted a range of investment opportunities in Sindh, including the Dhabeji and Khairpur Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Karachi Education City, Marble City Karachi, and sectors such as education, agriculture, energy, IT, infrastructure, water recycling, and the environment.

Qamar provided a detailed briefing on government initiatives aimed at boosting investment, including the Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company and tax incentives available for investors in Special Economic Zones. The Turkish Consul General expressed interest in these opportunities, particularly in Karachi Education City.

Additionally, Qamar shared details about the date production sector in Khairpur district, emphasizing its potential for investment. He also noted that the provincial government is focused on establishing an SEZ in Hyderabad, with interest already shown by motorcycle and electric appliance manufacturers.

Secretary Investment Sindh, Raja Khurram Shahzad, also briefed the Turkish delegation about the province’s mineral reserves, available investment sectors, and ongoing projects aimed at attracting foreign investment.
