Uzbekistan airways doubles Pakistan flights to four weekly, strengthening Central–South Asia connectivity

Uzbekistan Airways, the national carrier of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has announced a major expansion of its flight operations to Pakistan, doubling weekly frequencies in response to growing passenger demand.

Starting October 28, 2025, the airline will operate four weekly flights connecting Tashkent with Islamabad and Lahore, up from the current two flights per week. The move is aimed at improving air connectivity between Central and South Asia while offering Pakistani travelers more convenient and cost-effective options for regional and global travel.

According to a statement, Uzbekistan Airways’ decision follows the strong performance of its existing routes, with previous Tashkent–Islamabad flights frequently operating at full capacity and tickets often selling out days in advance.

Under the revised schedule, the Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent service will operate every Tuesday and Saturday, while Tashkent–Lahore–Tashkent flights will run every Wednesday and Friday.

The airline highlighted that one-way fares start from around USD 200, while round-trip tickets are available from USD 400, positioning the service as one of the most affordable and time-efficient travel options between the two countries.

Flights from Tashkent to Islamabad take roughly two hours, providing a fast and comfortable connection between the capitals. All services are operated on modern aircraft, offering world-class onboard amenities, professional crews, and top-tier safety standards.

The airline’s hub, Tashkent International Airport, serves as a major transit point linking Europe and Asia, with efficient connections to more than 50 international destinations. Passengers from Pakistan can enjoy smooth transfers via Tashkent to major cities including Istanbul, Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Moscow, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Baku, Astana, and Batumi, among others.

This expanded network makes Uzbekistan Airways an increasingly attractive choice for both business and leisure travelers, combining global reach with competitive pricing and high-quality service.

Officials noted that the enhanced air connectivity will strengthen trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations, which share centuries-old historical, cultural, and spiritual ties rooted in the Silk Road heritage and Islamic civilization.

For Pakistani tourists, Uzbekistan offers access to iconic Silk Road destinations such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand, famed for their grand Islamic architecture, vibrant markets, and shared cultural legacy. Conversely, a growing number of Uzbek travelers are visiting Pakistan’s scenic valleys, heritage sites, and bustling urban centers, including Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.

Officials added that this expansion aligns with the shared regional vision of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to promote connectivity, trade facilitation, and economic cooperation across Central and South Asia.

Uzbekistan Airways said the development marks “a new chapter” in bilateral ties, turning shared aspirations into “tangible connections” that unite families, cultures, and economies.
