Editor in Chief

Brackly News is seeking an experienced, visionary, and highly skilled Editor in Chief to lead our editorial team and oversee the overall content direction of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of journalism, digital media, current affairs, and audience engagement, with the ability to maintain high editorial standards while developing compelling and credible news content.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Lead and manage the overall editorial direction and content strategy of Brackly News
✔ Oversee daily news coverage, editorial planning, and publishing operations
✔ Assign stories, manage editorial workflows, and coordinate with reporters, writers, and editors
✔ Review, edit, and approve news stories, features, opinion pieces, and other editorial content
✔ Ensure all published content meets high standards of accuracy, credibility, fairness, and journalistic ethics
✔ Develop editorial calendars and coverage plans for major news events and emerging stories
✔ Identify important news trends, topics, and stories relevant to the target audience
✔ Build and maintain a strong network of journalists, contributors, experts, and industry sources
✔ Guide the editorial team in investigative, breaking, and feature journalism
✔ Monitor website and social media performance to improve content reach and audience engagement
✔ Establish and enforce editorial policies, standards, and fact-checking procedures
✔ Work closely with management and other departments on strategic content initiatives
✔ Represent Brackly News professionally at industry events, interviews, and public engagements when required
✔ Mentor, train, and develop editorial staff to strengthen the quality and consistency of published content

Requirements

✅ Minimum 5 years of experience in journalism, digital media, editorial management, or a related field
✅ Proven experience in a senior editorial or newsroom leadership position
✅ Strong command of English with excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
✅ Deep understanding of journalism ethics, fact-checking, and editorial standards
✅ Strong knowledge of current affairs, national and international news, and digital media trends
✅ Experience managing editorial teams and coordinating multiple content workflows
✅ Excellent headline writing, storytelling, editing, and content-planning skills
✅ Strong understanding of SEO, social media, digital publishing, and audience growth strategies
✅ Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage breaking-news situations
✅ Strong leadership, decision-making, and crisis-management abilities
✅ High level of professionalism, integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail
✅ Ability to develop a distinctive editorial voice and long-term content strategy
